ABOUT US
Stripped Up Proper was founded in 2013 by Kate Sawyer, a traditionally trained designer and tailor with many years’ experience in internet retail, who wanted to create an alternative to mainstream disposable fashion.

What began as giving a new lease of life to recycled clothing and fabrics quickly grew to encompass vintage and fairly-traded ranges. Initially trading only through festivals, craft fairs and vintage events throughout the South West, due to demand the Stripped Up Proper Travelling Emporium of Whatsits and Doo-Dahs now also retails it’s eclectic and ever-changing collection online.

Carbon Neutral delivery option for all UK orders, and try to give as much information as possible on the origin of each product in our range.

GENERAL ORDERING INFORMATION

DISPATCH

Stock Clothing, Accessories and Gifts
We aim to dispatch all accessory, gift and stock clothing orders within a maximum of 2 working days. If any items are not in stock or there will be any delay, we will inform you as soon as possible.
Clothing held in stock for immediate dispatch includes our Fairtrade, Vintage and Upcycled ranges; usually anything not marked as ‘bespoke’, ‘made to order’ or ‘made to measure’.

Bespoke and Made to Measure items
Our bespoke designs are individually made to order and, unless an urgent order is requested (see next paragraph), will usually be dispatched within 2-3 weeks. Where time limits and the design allow, it is our policy to send fabric swatches for items ordered, to give you the opportunity to see and approve the actual colour, prior to manufacture of the goods.
However, as many of our designs utilise a multitude of recycled fabrics, sometimes the actual fabrics, colours and patterns will vary slightly from the photograph.

Urgent orders
Bespoke items can often be dispatched sooner than the 2-3 weeks quoted, if required sooner. There is no extra charge for this service, although shipping charges may be affected. Please notify us of your required by/function date in the special instructions box and we will contact you as soon as possible, to confirm whether we can meet your deadline.

SHIPPING AREAS/DELIVERY METHOD

UK Standard Delivery is usually by Royal Mail 1st Class Recorded Delivery - a signature will be required on delivery. Price £4.10 per order. Goods usually received within 1-3 days of dispatch but delivery time not guaranteed.

UK Priority Delivery is either by Royal Mail Special Delivery or Interlink 24 hour CO2 NEUTRAL Delivery. - a signature will be required on delivery. Price £8.25 per order. Goods usually received the next working day after confirmed dispatch date. (Please note that deliveries to UK islands and the Highlands of Scotland may take an extra day).

Europe and Worldwide delivery options are either by Royal Mail Tracked (priority handling and electronic delivery confirmation) or Royal Mail International Signed service (priority handling and registered delivery), depending upon zone. The usual flat rate price we charge is £15.00 per order, however multiple items and heavy items ordered may exceed standard weight and size restrictions and in that event we will contact you to advise of any additional charges and await your approval /authorisation for any additional costs.

Overseas delivery is usually within 4-7 days of dispatch depending upon country and is subject to any delays caused by transit through Customs. Please be aware that any Import taxes or duties payable are the responsibility of the customer.

For urgent international deliveries we are able to use FedEx or similar alternative courier. Please contact us with details of your requirements so that we may obtain a shipping quote.

All delivery times are given as a guide as the actual time taken for delivery is outside of our control.

WHAT IF IT DOESN'T FIT?
Our aim is to supply items that fit and we try to get it right, first time. When ordering a bespoke item, we will ask you for the measurements required; please supply measurements as accurately as possible. If you have any questions about taking measurements, please contact us for advice.

If you find that the fit is not right, tell us what the problem is as soon as you can and we’ll discuss the options with you. For one of a kind items where no other size is available, in some instances we will be able to offer an alteration service.

AVAILABILITY

Availability
All items are offered subject to availability. We will inform you as soon as possible if the goods you have ordered are not available.

Acknowledgment and acceptance of your order Upon placing an order you will receive an automated email setting out the details of the order and allocating an order number. We will email you again, as soon as possible, to confirm acceptance of the order, availability and the expected dispatch date.

PAYMENT
When an order is placed by you online, your credit/debit card or Paypal account is debited to the full value of the order.

VAT
We are not currently a VAT registered company; the prices shown on our website do not include a VAT element.

RETURNS POLICY

Under the distance selling regulations you have the legal right to cancel your order within fourteen days of receipt of the goods, with the exception of items individually made to order. This exception specifically includes bespoke and made to order clothing, drum heads and stage banners, unless the items supplied by us differ from those ordered.

All returned goods must be unused, unworn and undamaged with their original packaging. Please use a 'signed for' mail service to return items and remember to include your order number, your name and address details and the reason for return. On receipt of the goods a full refund will be made, less the full cost of carriage incurred by us in sending them to you. Please contact us by telephone or email for the returns address before returning any item.

QUANTITY DISCOUNTS
Any discounts available are detailed with the relevant items and are calculated and applied automatically when you place qualifying products into the shopping basket.

Ownership of rights

Accuracy of content

Stripped Up Proper has taken every care in the preparation of the content of this website, in particular to ensure that prices quoted are correct and all products have been fairly described. However, orders will only be accepted if there are no material errors in the description of the goods or their prices as advertised on this website. All items are subject to availability. We will inform you as soon as possible if the goods you have ordered are not available or we are unable to supply within any time scales given. The weights, dimensions and capacities given are as accurate as we have been able to ascertain. We have made every effort to display as accurately as possible the colours of our products that appear on the website. However, as the actual colours you see will depend on your monitor settings, we cannot guarantee that your monitor's display of any colour will accurately reflect the colour of the product on delivery. Where time limits allow, it is our policy to send fabric swatches of bespoke items ordered to give you the opportunity to see and approve the actual colour prior to manufacture of the goods.

Delays

On rare occasions, for reasons beyond our control, there may be a delay in dispatching your goods beyond the confirmed dispatch date. We will, wherever possible, keep you informed should this happen. Our liability for delays, errors and omissions, in this instance, is limited to the value of the goods only and not for any consequential loss.

Any delivery delays caused by carriers, customs/import regulations, industrial action or any other reason, are beyond our control.

Cancellation right

Use of this website from outside the UK

Those who access this site from locations outside the United Kingdom are responsible for compliance with local laws if and to the extent local laws are applicable. Please be aware that any Import taxes or duties payable are the responsibility of the customer

Law, jurisdiction and language

This website, any content contained herein and any contract brought into being as a result of usage of this website are governed by and construed in accordance with English Law. The parties to any such contract agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. All contracts are concluded in English. These terms and conditions do not affect your legal rights.
